Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk Broads lie in the English region of East Anglia. Although known as the Norfolk Broads, part of the waterway actually lies in Suffolk. The principal city is Norwich, famous for its ornate cathedral which has stunning architecture and is the final resting place of Edith Cavell, the nurse shot by the Germans as a spy.

Other large towns on the Norfolk Broads include Great Yarmouth to the East and Beccles to the South, but by far the busiest as far as boaters are concerned is Wroxham which is known as “The Queen of the Broads.” Indeed, Wroxham is stunning from the river. It makes an ideal place to start or finish a Norfolk Broads holiday or an ideal place to get boat chandlery if you are a boat owner. Wroxham also boasts one of the largest supermarkets for a town of its size. Roy’s of Wroxham is the ideal place to stock up with boat provisions for your Norfolk Broads boating holiday.

The Broads themselves are man made lakes which over time have flooded. Connecting the Broads are 6 rivers,  the Bure, Thurne and Ant which lie to the North of Breydon Water and the Wensum, Waveney and Chet to the South.
